Katie Landry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri, Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in Kansas, and a Clinical Social Worker in Colorado. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Katie has experience providing mental health care in a variety of settings, such as non-profit agencies, hospital systems, and most recently in private practice. Katie joined Clinical Counseling Associates of Kansas City (CCAKC) in 2021, where she had the opportunity to hone her skills working with first responders and their families. In addition to providing individual therapy to first responders, Katie participates in critical incident debriefs, peer support interviews, trainings, and serves as a volunteer for the Trauma Recovery Network (TRN) by providing pro bono services in the event of a first responder critical incident.
Katie developed an interest in trauma-focused therapy while attending graduate school. Katie was trained in Project LAST while in graduate school, an evidence-based intervention, which addresses grief and trauma of children and families who are survivors of and/or witnesses to community violence. Katie is trained in EMDR and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also uses Narrative Therapy and Imagery Rehearsal Therapy interventions in her work to treat trauma. In addition to these modalities, Katie is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
Katie believes that therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist, and is honored to provide a safe space for clients to heal.
